The Journalist at War; on Midrats

They share the hazards, smell the smells; all that is needed so that those at home may understand what their countrymen are doing in the far reaches of the world on their behalf.

The best know that to tell a story, you have to be in it. Sometimes, the story catches up with them.

This Sunday, 13 NOV from 5-6pm EST, our guest for the full hour will be Kimberly Dozier, foreign correspondent for CBS News Radio specializing in the Middle East from the disputed territories of Israel to the war in Afghanistan and the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

She reported on the war in Iraq from 2003 until she was injured by a car bomb in 2006. She recently returned to Afghanistan and Pakistan as an Intelligence/Counterterrorism correspondent for the Associated Press.

Previously she was London Bureau Chief for CBS Radio News, has received four Gracie Awards and a Peabody Award, inlcuding one for her body of work in Iraq, has done reporting for the Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, and been featured on CBS Primetime and in Glamour magazine.

She is also the author of Breathing the Fire: Fighting to Survive, and Get Back to the Fight, the story of her recovery from her injuries in 2006.

Join us live if you can and pile in with the usual suspects in the chat room where you can contribute your thoughts and observation - and suggest to us questions for our guests.

If you miss the show you can always listen to the archive at blogtalkradio - but the best way to get the show and download the archive to your audio player is to get a free account and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.

Ms. Dozier is a remarkable woman.  Since recovering from her injuries, she has participated in 10K charity runs for ficher house and is donating proceeds from breathing the fire to wounded warrior charities.

One of the few journalists out there who truly does support the troops!
